Cognos 8 BI 8.4 FCS is a stand alone release and must be deployed independent of other Cognos offerings such as IBM Cognos 8 Planning, IBM Cognos 8 Go! Mobile, IBM Cognos Go! Search, IBM Cognos Go! Office.
We continue to drive innovation in our solution and will have a fully interoperable release of IBM Cognos 8 in the future. There will be updates to IBM Cognos 8 BI 8.4 FCS and IBM Cognos 8 BI PowerPlay 8.4 FCS when the next release is available.
You are strongly encouraged to upgrade when the next version is available. You are expected to do this within 90 days of its release in order to receive all the features, conformance and applicable fixes. You can continue to log service requests for IBM Cognos 8 BI version 4 FCS. At Cognos’ discretion and provided resources are available, we will endeavor to answer questions or provide workarounds to issues encountered with this version. Any product fixes will be applied to the Generally Available version only.
Applications built using the IBM Cognos 8 BI version 4 "FCS" Software Development Kit (SDK) may need to be recompiled with the later version once available.
